Map Tools Help

To learn how to use the map tools available in the Lethbridge Interactive WebMAP click on the categories below.



Zoom inZoom inZoom in to a specific location on the map. Select this tool with the mouse. Either select on the map where to zoom in or drag a rectangle around the area to zoom in.
Zoom outZoom outZoom out from a specific location on the map. Select this tool with the mouse. Either select on the map where to zoom out from or drag a rectangle around the area to zoom out from.
Back OneBackZoom to the maps previous extent.
PanPanMove (re-center) the map. Select this tool with the mouse. Either select on the map and the map will center on that point or select on the map and drag it to reposition the map center.
Full ExtentFull ViewZooms out to the full viewing area.
Pan NorthPan NorthSelect this arrow with the mouse to pan the map north.
Pan SouthPan SouthSelect this arrow with the mouse to pan the map south.
Pan EastPan EastSelect this arrow with the mouse to pan the map east.
Pan WestPan WestSelect this arrow with the mouse to pan the map west.


Data

IdentifyIdentifyGets information about features on the map. Select this tool with the mouse, then select features on the map for which information is desired. Before using this tool, you must set the active layer in the Layers section.
Get CoordinatesGet CoordinatesDisplays coordinates of location in 3TM and Geographic (Longitude and Latitude) projections. Geographic coordinates are reported in both decimal degrees and Degrees, Minutes, Seconds (DMS). Select this tool with the mouse, then select any location on the map for which coordinate information is required.
MeasureMeasureDisplays measurements of user created lines in meters. Select this tool with the mouse, then select the starting point on the map, once complete select the end point. Measurements are displayed in the top left corner of the map.
ClearClear SelectionClears the selected features highlighted in color on the map. Also clears graphics created through use of the measure tool.

Save ImageSave ImageOpens a page for saving the map image to your computer for use in other computer applications (ie. Word, PowerPoint).


Printing

PrintPrintOpens a page for printing the map.
